Mumbai: In the new year, Mumbaikars will get relief from traffic jams. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has informed that the first phase of the coastal road will be completed by the end of January . Mumbai Commissioner Iqbal Chahal was also present on the occasion. 83% of the coastal road, which is a very ambitious project from Mumbai’s point of view, has been completed. The Chief Minister also said that the coastal road will be opened in the month of January. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde interacted with the media after inspecting the coastal road. 

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, the work of a coastal road tunnel from Marine Drive to Worli sea-face will be completed by January 31 and it will be inaugurated soon. The work of the second tunnel will be completed by May 2024. State-of-the-art technology has been used in both the tunnels. In case of accident or fire, the smoke will be thrown out. The coastalroad will also eliminate the traffic congestion.
